If you look at the pickup poles you will see they are staggered with the EAD and GBE offset, this is because they are wired to 2 separate 5 ways. These work like any standard Strat regards the position selected, but the upper switch only operates the EA and D strings, the lower operated the G,B and E.
For example you can play EAD on the neck and GBE on the bridge simultaneously, or any other combination.
