Get rid of your "chicken nugget" shifter and replace it with an actual knob! Since the introduction of the MK8 Golf platform, Volkswagen's choice of control surfaces has been a sore spot for many owners - in particular the shift mechanism. We sought to give those owners another option, one that replaces the shift "switch" with an actual knob.

This shift knob is a bit of a departure from our normal offerings; unlike our previous manual and automatic shift knobs, we've made these knobs lighter than their manual counterparts. Though we have had to make changes to the weight, each knob still feels like butter in palm of your hand, thanks to the Napa Leather that it's wrapped in.

Weighing in at just 157 grams these knobs make up for their weight with form and function. Our GSB MQB Evo Auto/DSG Knob retains the gear selection window - so you can see on the shift knob which gear you have selected (like the factory switch).

While we've borrowed inspiration from shift knobs past, we think we've really perfected the proportions this time around- with the 3/4 Leather to metal ratio. We take pride in our machining, and the detailed crest coin gives that classy yet sporting look which elevates any interior's level. Designed specifically to fit the VW 5H shift lever assembly, the shifter slots right in place of your factory shift tab. You might think that this is a lot of hype for such a little part, but try telling that to us once you've had the chance to hold one of these in your hand.

INCLUDES:

  • One "MK8 DSG" GSB shift knob with integrated adapter for VW MK8 shift lever
  • One BFI crest logo coin
  • Two socket head bolts
  • Allen key for set screws

An epic naval history decades in the making
Format: Hardcover
Excellent ending to Dr. Rodger's three book series "A Naval History of Britain", with the same level of detail and interesting presentation of facts I have come to expect from reading other of his works over the years. For anyone interested in a comprehensive naval history of Britain (from which the US Navy inherited much of its tradition), I would highly recommend this series. In addition, "The Wooden World: An Anatomy of the Georgian Navy" is also quite a good read. My (incomplete, sadly) collection of Dr. Rodger's works will continue to hold a special place on my naval history shelf for easy reference in the future. I also hope Dr. Rodger's health has improved. The shipper unfortunately did not pack this book well, resulting in minor damage (mostly cosmetic - book is still entirely readable).

Answers Many Questions about Naval Developments
Format: Hardcover
The history offers a detailed and well organized account of the Royal Navy as it transitioned from sail to steam. Coverage included personalities, technology, tactics and strategy. The combination provided a complete appreciation of the dynamics at play, some unexpectedly. The details might be a bit much for a casual reader but offered plenty of avenues for research not available or compiled in one source. I look forward to the final volume, which should describe another watershed era.

Great Book with a different perspective
Format: Hardcover
This will be a short review of a very long book. I ordered the book expecting more of a history of the British Navy, but this is more of a history of Britain with respect to its navy. It is still excellent and authoritative, just different than I expected. I really appreciate a somewhat different perspective than I have found in some other books. For example, any discussion of Jackie Fisher I have read previously seemed to border on the hagiographic, whereas here he seems to get a very evenhanded appraisal. A great book, highly recommended.
