The VelociRadar has several other advantages over traditional light sensor chronographs. The VelociRadar is designed to sit next to the shooter, not downrange, eliminating the risk of bullet strikes. This design also doesn't require waiting for the range to stop firing for safe setup and adjustments. Traditional light sensor chronographs struggle indoors or in poor lighting conditions where radar can reliably track velocities no matter what the lighting. The 2.8π colour screen is easy to read and provides shot information and settings menus.

The included premium ball head tripod is the perfect height for shooting on the bench or prone and features a pivoting ball head design that allows for quick and easy target alignment. A recoil-activated trigger is included that mounts on the firearm for increased reliability when using the VelociRadar with suppressed firearms or at indoor or covered shooting ranges that affect the standard acoustic triggers ability to reliably capture every shot. A built-in rechargeable Li-ion battery has a longer runtime and eliminates the need for replacing disposable batteries before each trip to the range. VelociRadar is also compatible with the free Caldwell app, allowing users to remotely control the chronograph, create new shot strings, store and name shot data, and adjust chronograph settings.
