Gracie Pwerle Morton was born in Utopia, Northern Territory around 1956. She is one of the senior traditional custodians for both the Altyerre (Dreaming) and the vast expanse of a related country, some 263 km north of Alice Springs. In accordance with traditional law, the responsibility for the Bush Plum Dreaming has been passed down to Gracie from her father and her aunt, who are responsible for ensuring that she perseveres its traditions.

Gracie Pwerle Morton's career began in the 1970s with the Utopia Women's Batik Group and on canvas in the late 1980s. Her work has been well-received in galleries throughout Australia and around the world. Gracie works with great strength and dynamism of the Utopian women artists that continue across the generations. Gracie's delicate dotting and colour variation use an aerial perspective to portray the seasonal changes of the Arnwekety - the Bush Plum, a plant of great significance to the women of Gracie's traditional country, Mosquito Bore.

Gracie Morton's style of painting is distinctively minimalist and she uses a very delicate dotting technique and traditional colours. Her signature theme is the "bush plum" stories known to the Alyawarre as Arnwekety.

The delightfully subtle paintings of the Arnwekety - the Bush Plum, depict the changing seasonal influences on a plant that is of the greatest significance to the Alyawarre women of the Eastern Desert region of the Northern Territory. The incredible finesse of Gracie's style creates a wonderful lyricism in her works, causing a three-dimensionality that pulls at the eye guiding the viewer through the soft, outward-reaching fields of colour, while simultaneously transfixing one in its undulations.

The Bush Plum is a highly nutritious small fruit with black seeds, rich in vitamin C, that can be eaten raw or cooked. Growing in a great profusion of flowers and fruit throughout the winter months, the women, accompanied by the children, collect the Bush Plums, while at the same time reconfirming their connection to the land. The flourish of colour that distinguishes the Bush Plum after the fall of rain, is quickly transformed with the long hot summer months. Dried and separated, the seed and husk are scattered over the vast sun-baked landscape by the hot summer wind.

Color: Big Dial Gold Men Watch
I tested all the negative feedback comments and didn’t find any of them to be accurate. This is a great watch with a beautiful dial. End of story.

Beautiful Watch, But It Doesn't Work and Customer Support is Non-Existent
Color: Sliver Band Blue Face-5009, Color: Sliver Band Blue Face-5009
Update: However, after two weeks I noticed the watch would stop working. I would reset the time and it would work for a day or two and stop again. It happened several times. I tried contacting the seller through Amazon twice but they never replied. The phone number listed by Amazon's Contact the Seller doesn't work. I tried calling it twice and all I got was a message saying that my call could not be connected. I contacted Amazon and they authorized a return and now I'm going to have to find a different watch from a different Amazon seller. I'm extremely disappointed because I really loved this watch! I can not in good conscience ever recommend this brand of watches so I changed my review form a 5 star to a 1 star. Previous review: The model I purchased is the OLEVS Stainless Steel Quartz Movement model # 5009G with the blue face. I chose this watch because I have a 9" wrist and this particular model came with a 9.05" band and it fits perfectly! It opens just big enough to slip over my XXL hand the band is just loose enough to have the slightest shift back and forth when closed so it is quite comfortable to wear. The watch is truly beautiful, and light weight. I can't believe how low the price was! My eyesight is not the best so I don't need a fancy watch with three different dials on the face (truthfully I didn't really need the date on this watch since I can't read it without glasses) but I can glance down at the watch and tell the time, and that's all I need. The watch came with the band extended to its longest length, but a tool was included to adjust the band to a smaller size if needed. This manufacturer has many, beautiful watches to choose from! But be careful if band length is a special concern for you. Make certain when you select the color and design you want to scroll down to "Looking for specific info" and ask what the band length is. I found it can vary between the different watches shown on the order page you're viewing. Some watches will have a band length listed in millimeters and others in inches, so you may need to do some conversions. The watch looks very similar to a Citizen watch I've been wearing for at least 15 years (probably closer to 20). The Citizen had been eating $5 batteries every two months for years, and it still lost time like crazy. I finally decided enough was enough and started looking for a nice watch. This is for everyday, and formal wear.
