. : .

Pua Kala has many layers to her gnosis. First, we see her thorns - a field of protection that repels the people and situations that distract us from the sense of belonging that accompanies our True Path. This True Path not only includes the unfolding of our present and future moments, but also our past. Pua Kala's roots run deep, and she can reconnect us with our ancestors, and where we come from. "Gratitude gets us past the thorns," she says.

Behind her thorny exterior, Pua Kala's petals are soft and delicate. These beautiful gauzy flowers are a reminder to be mindful of what you let into your sphere. Certain energies can be too rough with us, drain our energy, or steal our focus away from what is truly important for us as individuals. Know when it is time to let people and things in, and know when it is time to commune with the Self… there is sweetness and intimacy in your own personal story. Adopting this attitude can allow you to receive inspiration that is in alignment with your Higher Path. ("You always have the bees," she says.)

Past the thorns, there is rest and pollen. As her blossoms rock and sway in the breeze on long stalks, it becomes evident that Pua Kala wants us to move at a pace that is sustainable for us, instead of trying to move according to our ego’s timeline of how we think things should go. In doing this, we must surrender some of our desire to control things. ("Don't force it.") When we move calmly and with deliberate intention, we can more easily access Spiral Time. This pace also helps us to hear the voices of our Higher Self, our ancestors, and access other layers of intuition and inspiration that guide us on our personal path. There is a lot of divine wisdom to be found in this space. When our motions are too abrupt, it can cause us to topple over and "spill".

Be present with What Is instead of overly identifying with your emotions about things you perceive to be true. Identifying and acknowledging your emotions is a healthy thing, but allowing yourself to stagnate in the story of your feelings is also a drain and distraction from your Higher Path and sense of belonging.

Pua Kala's roots run deep, reminding you that you do belong, even when it doesn't seem like it. Because you always belong, it is not necessary to create space for or move toward things that pull you out of alignment in order to synthesize the sensation of superficial belonging. Busying yourself with people and things that are not aligned with your Higher Path and roots only distracts you from your sense of Belonging… From the ways you truly Belong, in your natural, relaxed, and whole state of being.

On Flower Essences

Flower Essences are a vibrational medicine that are created through communion with the flowering part of a plant, where its vital energy is being focused. After connecting with the plant, the most pristine blossoms are solar infused into volcanic spring water from the island of Hawai'i, and then preserved with locally made "Hawaiian Honeyshine".

Flower Essences contain no chemical constituents from the plant, but they hold a lot of power, and are primarily used for shifting one's perception of their reality in a gentle and effective way. Because of this, Flower Essences are an excellent way to work with plants that are considered poisonous or toxic to humans.

Great book for learning about startup culture.
Format: Paperback, Format: Paperback
I had this book for a while did not have the chance to read as soon as I got it. Recently finished reading it and learned a lot of great things about startup terminology and how to be fast and how to iterate things in a right way, how to go deep in the problem. Identify pain points for the problem etc. Overall great teacher for anybody who wants to get grasp of a being in startup world.

Learning Faster, Failing Smarter
Format: Paperback
This book is truly amazing. Each chapter offers so much to learn. It helped me review what I’ve missed so far, anticipate future challenges, and prepare ways to reduce the chances of failure. It reminded me that failure is inevitable, but the speed of learning, adapting, and retrying makes all the difference. I learned that luck comes through action, ownership is everything, and true success lies in persistence and focus. The book also emphasizes solving real problems with humility, data, and continuous iteration. I’m truly grateful to have found this book — it changed the way I think about challenges and growth.

You NEED this book!!
Format: Kindle
If you are involved in a startup, or thinking about getting involved this is a must read. Jame's doesn't just rely on his own experience, he has been advising founders for years and does this with close relationships, not boardroom pontification. His blunt approach is balanced with his caring critiques. You can read dozens of books on startups and find out, when you actually are in one, how little applies to you. This is not that. Must read!!

Excellent book with a lot of solid advice
Format: Kindle
I thought this was an excellent book. It gave great advice that I found really helpful in thinking about and planning my startup, as many of the other comments have noted. The key ideas as far as I remember are that a) you should talk to as many potential users as you can and find out what their problems are, and b) be laser-focused on solving those problems instead of building what it is you want to build, because the thing you want to create might not be the thing that they want to buy. In fact I did just that; I talked with just one potential user and found that what I had thought would be their big problem wasn't a problem at all for them, and looking at some hard numbers as he advises, it isn't a problem for the industry as a whole, either. I had to go back and reformulate my approach. I now have a 100% better value proposition for them. Just two words of caution: 1) The book assumes that your startup is an app of some sort. Much of what he's talking about is therefore specific to the tech business. Mine isn't. Mine is a real product that people can hold in their hands. That wasn't a deal breaker by any means as most of the lessons in the book are still applicable to my product and what I'm doing. Still, it would've been nice of him to acknowledge that someone's start-up may be a lemonade stand or something material and concrete like that. 2) Is the vulger language necessary? I mean, English isn't like some other languages where there's an enormous difference between the way a language is written and the way it's spoken, but still, do we need so many obscenities in a book on business? It reads in some places like you're in a bar with a tech bro who's had a few drinks and is lambasting your approach to your business. I could've done without all the four-letter-words. But maybe that's just my generation.
