This classic of the Gibson canon steps up with enormous tonality and playability, striking the perfect balance between style and substance. Originally produced in 1955 as a step up from the Les Paul Junior, the Les Paul Special has taken on a life of its own in the hands of its players.
This Gibson classic starts out with a slab mahogany body shaped in the classic Les Paul single-cutaway shape. Building a resonant base off which the rest of the musical experience can fly, this Les Paul body is effortlessly handled. Extending out from there, this Les Paul introduces a mahogany neck shaped in a thick 50s Vintage profile, hearkening to the earliest days of the model. This neck combines with a rosewood fingerboard bearing twenty-two Medium Jumbo frets that inspire lengthy playing sessions across the full scale. Acrylic dots line the twelve-inch radius board for a striking visual element.
Sonically, this Les Paul Special comes alive with two P-90 pickups that summon a fiery and punchy sound right off the bat. These pickups are wired with Orange Drop capacitors for rich mixing through a wide spectrum of sound. This expressive electronics setup is matched with a great suite of hardware specifications to really tie everything together. A wraparound bridge matches with a Graph Tech nut and Vintage Deluxe tuning machines for sturdy intonation and fluid stringing. This Les Paul Special travels with a hardshell case.
