This amazing Fender Custom Shop Limited Edition '54 Stratocaster comes to us in a Deluxe Closet Classic treatment, emulating a nearly perfectly preserved instrument that brings us an unimaginable amount of joy. In celebration of the instrument's 70th birthday, Fender's Custom Shop has rolled out a handful of incredible guitars, this one featuring pickups handwound by the legendary Josefina of the Custom shop, and a Wide Fade 2-Color Sunburst, as well as a ton of performance features.
Cut from off-center ash in a two-piece configuration, the '54 Stratocaster flaunts precise body contours, including deep Strat cutaways and a rib contour, offer a comfort playing experience.
The connection of the neck to the body is made with a special 70th anniversary 4-bolt plate, complete with a unique serial number. Carved from 5/4 sawn maple, the neck boasts a comfortable compound fingerboard radius ranging from 7.25" to 9.5", that's topped with Micarta Black wide spaced inlays and Medium Jumbo frets.
Legendary pickup winder Josefina handwound the three Fender Custom Shop '54 Strat pickups found in this beauty. Anyone familiar with the history of Fender's pickups knows the storied sound of these pickups, and these alone make this guitar worth noting. This Strat delivers the classic twang and quack of a vintage guitar, while vintage-style controls and relic'd hardware evoke the charm of the '54-'58 Strat era. Topped with a stunning wide-fade sunburst finish and aged hardware, this instrument epitomizes Fender's legacy of excellence.
Complete with a vintage-style tremolo arm and string tree, relic'd white ABS knobs and switch tip, and a deluxe Fender 70th Anniversary Strat case, this guitar is a testament to timeless craftsmanship and unmatched quality offered by the Fender Custom Shop.
