The color is a pinkish brown with lighter colored mottling and some light spalting. This block has subtle, attractive grain patterns, which includes darker streaks and knots. This wood has been carefully air dried to 10 12% moisture content. There were some drying cracks present that we've filled with dark brown epoxy You may need to touch up with CA

This block has subtle, attractive grain patterns, which includes darker streaks and knots. This wood has been carefully air-dried to 10-12% moisture content. There were some drying cracks present that we've filled with dark brown epoxy You may need to touch up with CA glue as you turn, as some of the cracks may not have been surface-connected. Pear wood typically has a fine and even grain pattern, which can result in a smooth and attractive surface when turned. This fine grain allows for intricate details and clean cuts. It will be a delight to turn! |
