For straight up rock and roll overdrive tones, look no further than the Fender Santa Ana V2. Back with a '80s inspired sea foam green enclosure, the Santa Ana returns with its JFET-based class-A overdrive engine – running 18-volts internally, offering high headroom and a range of overdrive. Under the hood, the Santa Ana V2 hosts a dual-voice circuit; voice A offers a smooth natural-sounding tight overdrive while voice B offers thicker, saturated lead tones. Voice B can be tightened up with the TIGHT switch on the rear panel which pulls pre-drive bass frequencies for a more responsive feel. Tone can further be sculpted with the 3-band EQ section offering boost/cut functionality on BASS, MIDDLE, and TREBLE frequencies. With the EQ switch, EQ can be either pre or post drive section. The rear panel also hosts toggle switches for built in latching/momentary footswitch action and true/buffered bypass.

My bugeye may not be European, but it’s living its best life on this oil. Would absolutely buy again—passport not required.
