Lelit | Anna (PL41LEM)Lelit Anna PL41LEM, Compact Prosumer Espresso Machine The Lelit Anna PL41LEM is the updated non PID Anna, the middle of the three Anna variants, sitting between the base PL41EM and the PID equipped PL41TEM. LED interface, improved steam strength, a brew pressure gauge on the front, and a 3 way valve that makes the group easier to clean and the puck easier to remove. Same 58mm commercial portafilter, same compact 23cm wide footprint, same philosophy:

Lelit Anna PL41LEM, Compact Prosumer Espresso Machine

The Lelit Anna PL41LEM is the updated non-PID Anna, the middle of the three Anna variants, sitting between the base PL41EM and the PID-equipped PL41TEM. LED interface, improved steam strength, a brew pressure gauge on the front, and a 3-way valve that makes the group easier to clean and the puck easier to remove. Same 58mm commercial portafilter, same compact 23cm-wide footprint, same philosophy: prosumer espresso in its smallest, simplest form.

For buyers who want the Anna's size and 58mm credentials without the price premium of PID control.

LED interface and improved steam

The L in PL41LEM is for LED. The LED interface uses red and green indicators on the front to show the machine's ready state, clear at a glance when it's up to temperature for brewing and steaming, without the complexity of a screen or menu system. Steam strength is meaningfully better on this revision of the Anna too, enough to matter when you're texturing milk for flat whites or cappuccinos.

Brew pressure gauge on the front

A pressure gauge on the front panel shows what's happening during the shot: under-extraction reads low, over-extraction reads high, and you can use it to read backflushing pressure during cleaning. For anyone learning espresso, it's a useful feedback loop without needing extra kit.

3-way valve for easier cleaning

The 3-way valve lets you remove the portafilter immediately after brewing, no waiting for pressure to drop, no wet puck sticking to the group. It also enables proper backflushing, which means the machine stays cleaner for longer and the group head lasts.

58mm commercial portafilter

Same 58mm commercial-standard portafilter as the Victoria, Elizabeth, and every proper prosumer machine in the Lelit range. Tampers, distributors, and precision baskets all transfer across if you upgrade later.

Compact footprint

23cm wide, small enough to fit under most kitchen cabinets, doesn't crowd the counter. The Anna is Lelit's answer to "what's the smallest proper espresso machine I can buy?", and the PL41LEM is the current answer.

Choosing between the Anna variants

The PL41LEM sits in the middle of the Anna range: newer and better-equipped than the base PL41EM, but without the programmable PID control of the PL41TEM. If you want consistent shot-to-shot temperature control, the PL41TEM is the one to buy. If you want the smallest proper 58mm espresso machine at the lowest sensible price, the PL41LEM is it.

Choosing between the three Anna variants

The Anna comes in three versions, all sharing the same 58mm commercial portafilter, compact 23cm footprint, and build quality. The difference is in the controls and features:

PL41EM, the base model. No display, no PID, analogue operation. The most affordable way into the Anna range and the smallest proper 58mm prosumer espresso machine Lelit makes.

PL41LEM, the updated non-PID Anna. LED interface with red and green ready indicators, improved steam strength, brew pressure gauge, and a 3-way valve for easier cleaning. Meaningful everyday improvements over the EM without the cost of PID control.

PL41TEM, the Anna with PID temperature control and a proper display for setting and monitoring brew temperature. Locks temperature shot after shot, adjustable in small increments to suit different roasts. The version to buy if consistent temperature matters to you, which, for most people dialling in espresso, it does.

All three use the same 58mm portafilter standard, so accessories carry across. The decision comes down to how much control you want over the shot, and how much you're willing to pay for it.

Our German Sheppard loves these
Size: Medium
These cost a bit more than tennis balls, but they are so much nicer and longer lasting. For starters, they stay cleaner than tennis balls because they’re smooth rubber. Dirt won’t build up on them and if anything does stick, like grass or soil, it falls off once the dog slobber dries. They’re also thick, so they don’t fall apart or blow out like a normal tennis ball does in our dog’s jaws after 30 seconds. Our GS chomps on these like crazy and the only damage they’ve suffered is a crack that developed from the edge of the hole, but the crack is growing very slowly and none of these balls have totally failed yet. The balls do whistle when thrown ant high speed and that may help a dog track and locate it, but I’m not sure. Our neighbors hear the whistling too so it’s far from silent. Lastly the orange ball is easy to locate out in our yard, but the dark blue practically disappears.

Great for smaller dogs
Size: Small
These two balls are perfect for the smaller mouthed dog that loves to play fetch. These balls are not only super durable (lots of teeth biting), but float in the baby pool we use for our miniature dachshunds. The value here is much better than you’d find anywhere else. The noise, if bitten hard enough, was “low” at best. Easy to spot/find if overthrown. Will definitely buy again once these are in bad repair; so far, so good-love these for my fur babies!

My dogs favorite balls
Size: Medium
These are great for my dog who always has to have a ball in her mouth. Not too hard so I don't have to worry about her teeth. They last for ever. They do lose their shape a little over time (like I said, she always has a ball in her mouth) they become a little oval in shape. They still bounce, she still chases it and she still chews on it so I don't think she notices or cares. I've gotten her a bag full of these over time and I have only seen one that she chewed a chunk out.

My Dachshunds Love These
Size: Small
These balls are durable, flexible material, highly chewable without being easily destroyed. I stuff them with Milkbone Maro Snacks, which are just the right size to twist into the holes in the ball. My dogs literally get an hour+ chewing and chasing entertainment from these. They chew them, they sometimes 'pop' out of their mouths, go rolling across the floor, dogs chasing them. This satisfies their urge to hunt prey. Dachshunds can easily tear this kind of stuff-it-toy apart. These have lasted for a long time without tearing or shredding. I would NOT recommend them for a dog much larger than a tweenie weenie. They're a bit on the small side and might be swallowed by a larger dog. It would be cool it they also came in a larger size (and probably ball wall thickness also) for the bigger dogs to enjoy. These stuff-it chew balls are better than the kong balls my dogs had before these. Highly recommend them.

My puppy’s favorite fetch toy!
Size: Small
Update Aug 27, 2024: After 10 months, these are still his favorite ball. He’s obsessed with fetching and plays with them all day. They do bounce really high. Unfortunately, the small size aren’t available for sale anywhere anymore. I tried the medium size, and he has a bit of trouble hanging on to them, but he manages. Weirdly, he prefers the orange one, but he also plays with the blue one. My 7 month old Shih Tzu puppy loves to fetch, and these are his new favorites. They’re small enough to fit in his mouth, and they are made of hard plastic, so he’s able to hold on to them. They have a lot of bounce, and this adds to the fun for him. I highly recommend them.
