How to attach the disc drive to PS5 consoles (CFI-2000 model group - slim)

Place your console on a soft cloth spread over a flat surface before attaching your disc drive.

Step 1

Go to the control centre and select Power > Turn Off PS5. The screen goes blank, the power indicator flashes white, and then turns off.

Step 2

Remove the AC power cord and cables, and then wait for the PS5 console to cool down. The main unit of your console is hot immediately after use.

Step 3

Place the console with the bottom facing up and the front side facing you, and then remove the horizontal stand feet (short).

Step 4

Slightly lift the circle cover away from the console to detach its clips and remove it.

Step 5

Align the disc drive’s clips with the 2 holes (marked with an upside-down triangle), then firmly push in until you hear a “click”.

Step 6

Attach the circle cover and horizontal stand feet (long) included with your disc drive. Align the cover’s clips with the corresponding holes on the console and push in until you hear a “click”.

Step 7

Connect the AC power cord and cables, and then turn on the power.

  • Keep the feet and cover you removed in steps 3 and 4 somewhere safe. They are needed to use the PS5 console without the disc drive attached. 
  • Internet connection required to pair disc drive and PS5 console upon set up.

*This product is only for PS5 Pro consoles and PS5 Digital Edition consoles (CFI-2000 model group - slim). Drive will play 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray discs, Blu-ray discs, and DVDs. Internet connection required to pair Disc Drive and PS5 console upon setup.

I needed something that would stop the former and prevent the latter, especially when I'm deep in concentration mode. The two panels are enough to block outsiders and the third panel I will employ when I can't even be disturbed by my officemate. It's the fastest and easiest signal not to disrupt me at all. 10/10

Packaging contents

Item is as described however this one appeared to be open and some parts possibly used. Example pole packaging mislabeled one had the letter K as a part there is no letter K item in the instructions. Another pole part had a taped on letter A which is completely different from the others thus indicating that it was opened or substituted. Finally after the partition was completely put together one of the bottom screw connection anchors came out making the partition unable to stand. I'm going to have to rig something up in order to get the anchor connected to the bottom panel. In closure the partion could be very acceptable and do the job if it was new and parts labeled correctly. I have pictures of all parts and packaging errors. Would buy again if new. I'm going to pursue some kind of compensation.

Easiest one star review ever. I'm writing this with bloody fingers from assembling this. Multiple poles were bent, none of the pole connectors worked, the hex wrench broke in my hand, the screws didn't really go into the holes provided (I had to get a friend with a press drill to widen the holes to make it work), there are sharp edges on the poles where there is a seam, and doesn't look that great once assembled. Easy do not buy, the only reason I didn't return is because it would have been tough to disassemble the half I got through in the first 5 hours of building (mostly spent fixing the product delivered)
