Mermaid PearlsThis necklace design is an exclusive offered only here in my boutique. It is intended to be worn draped right at the neckline. This 1 is knotted but I also make an unknotted version with a continuous run of pearls. The color of the glass is very unique. I call it Pearl Droplets. This necklace design is an exclusive...offered only here in my boutique. It is intended to be worn draped right at the neckline. This 1 is knotted but I also make an unknotted version with a continuous run of pearls. The color of the glass is very unique. I call it Pearl Droplets. It's got flashes of magenta with a reflective pale mint green metallic. It is a playful twist on a serious design.

I make each glass stone by cutting large sheets then firing in my kiln. Next I pair them with 14K gold filled chain and a comfortable metallic mesh that is delicate yet durable. Add a 3" extender at no cost in the pulldown menu.

There are many variations I can offer such as:

-glass color

-metallic mesh color

-finishing chain- bright silver, oxidized silver, 14k gold filled, 14k rose gold filled

-overall length

-knotted or without knots

If you prefer to discuss your unique preferences you can reach out with a convo here on Etsy so we can get a dialogue going on creating a custom piece.

I have matching earrings which can be set on any number of components.

The other images show some of my latest designs. I have created some interesting pieces of late...many I consider to be boldly feminine with a bent toward modern chic- enjoy!

Interesting book, dull period
Format: Paperback
As a Marxist historian, Hobsbawm sees the world at this time, as well as the modern world, as a playground for the forces of capitalism. He apologizes for taking a eurocentric approach to world history, while acknowledging that Europe largely determined the course of world events during this period. In spite of the title, there actually isn't much discussion of colonial empires; Hobsbawm seems more interested in how the Age of Empire affected the rulers more than the ruled. His Marxist sympathies are in evidence and at times make his conclusions a bit predictable, but some of his cultural critiques are quite brilliant. The chapter on the dilemmas posed by modern science is exceptional. Reading a book like this seems to me much more interesting than actually living in this period would have been.
