Kitamura Kigin ( December 11, 1625 August 4, 1705 ) was a poet, and scholar of Japanese studies in the early Edo period . His given name was Shizuatsu, and he was also known by the names Kyusuke and Saishin. His other names were Ran, Ryan, Nanamatsushi, Shihoken, and Kogetsutei.
