Description:
The first work to put forward a unified theory of how state and non-state threats now overlap and intersect.
In 1993, a newly appointed CIA director warned that Western powers might have 'slain a large dragon' with the fall of the USSR, but now faced a 'bewildering variety of poisonous snakes.' Since then, the dragons (state enemies such as Russia and China) and snakes (terrorist and guerrilla organisations) have watched the US struggle in Iraq and Afghanistan, and have mastered new methods in response- hybrid and urban warfare, political manipulation, and harnessing digital technology.
Leading soldier-scholar David Kilcullen reveals what the West's opponents have learned from twenty-first-century conflict, and explains how their cutting-edge tactics and adaptability pose a serious threat to America and its allies, disabling the West's military advantage. State and non-state threats have increasingly come to resemble each other, he argues, with states adopting non-state techniques and non-state actors now able to access levels of precision and lethal weapon systems once only available to governments.
The Dragons and the Snakes is a compelling, counterintuitive look at the new, vastly complex global arena. Kilcullen reshapes our understanding of the West's foes, and shows how it can respond.
'David Kilcullen has produced another thoughtful, important book. At a time when some believe that the return of competition with great powers (i.e. dragons) might serve as an emotional cathartic to help forget the long war against jihadist terrorist organisations (i.e. snakes), the author expo

Great quality and value
Color: Linen Gray, Color: Linen Gray
I’ve been using the Amazon Basics ceramic nonstick set regularly, and it performs really well. Food cooks evenly and doesn’t stick, and cleanup is quick. The handles stay cool, and everything feels sturdy. Looks luxe. Color looks great!
For the price, it’s a solid, reliable set.

Excellent pans
Color: Linen Gray
Ceramic coating, aluminum body with steel plate on the bottom for induction cooking. Used these on an induction hot plate and they worked better than the stainless steel pans I had tried before. They have a nice heft, without being heavy. Made in Luxembourg according to the tag on the bottom. Very good looking pans.

Save your money! You get what you pay for!
Color: Linen Gray
Looks great and weighted good. No metal utensils or excessively high heat and these only lasted a month before the non stick ceramic coating either chipped off or was no longer non stick. Save your money. You get what you pay for. Save up for a set that will last you. I will not be buying these again nor recommend anyone else buy.

Love it!
Color: Ivory, Color: Ivory
When my daughter moved ..I gave her my 12 piece set of pots and pans. Got this 8 piece set. I don't need much. This set is amazing! I wish it came in pink. It's truly nonstick...try eggs with cheese...you will see. Clean up is amazingly easy. They look nice and are well made. The tops have a vent hole so stuff doesn't boil over. Love that! These will last for more years than I have left. Also...they store quite easily...doesn't take up much room.

Good value, good quality, basic set of non-nonstick ceramic coated cookware
Color: Linen Gray
Really like this set! Bought when on sale, good value for the set. Items arrived nicely packed. Wanted to buy beige but sold out, so got light gray, which looks very nice as well. Followed instructions to prep the pieces with oil. Been using on stove top almost everyday. Haven’t tried putting in oven yet. Non-stick but work very well on browning: chicken wings, shrimps, meat, onions….. After cooking, let them cool completely, then very easy to clean with soft sponge. Just have to use silicone cookware to avoid scratching.
