Bodark Block B-485 2" x 2" x 6"Bodark Block B 4852" x 2" x 6"1 lb. This is another nice 2 inch square spindle block of spalted Texas Bodark. The colors are the golden brown of mature Bodark with intra grain bands of reddish brown spalting. There is a small wedge of old sapwood and bark along two thirds of one edge (top photo). That sapwood and bark should turn off completely as the block is turned to round. There is a single thin and tight drying check below that patch of sapwood

This is another nice 2 inch-square spindle block of spalted Texas Bodark. The colors are the golden brown of mature Bodark with intra-grain bands of reddish brown spalting. There is a small wedge of old sapwood and bark along two-thirds of one edge (top photo). That sapwood and bark should turn off completely as the block is turned to round.
There is a single thin and tight drying check below that patch of sapwood and bark on one edge. It appears to be old and I would simply reinforce it with CA glue before turning. I see no other significant flaws.
