Because these two materials can be difficult to distinguish, and because the word "jade" is so entrenched in common language, the name "jade" is still widely used across many societies, industries, and academic disciplines.

In this article, the word "jade" will be used for undifferentiated materials. "Jadeite" or "nephrite" will be used when the identity of the material is known. The word "nephrite" is also an imprecise term. It is used for materials composed of the minerals actinolite and tremolite.

Jade is a durable, colorful material that can be worked into shapes and given a high polish. These properties make it a very desirable gemstone. Jade has been used to make a variety of jewelry items such as pendants, necklaces, rings, bracelets, earrings, beads, cabochons, tumbled stones, and other items.

These jewelry items are often made of solid jade, combined with other gems, or placed in settings made from gold,silver, or other precious metals. In addition to jewelry, jade is used to make small sculptures, ornaments, religious art, and small functional objects.

Light commercial grade quality

This VERSARE hush screen portable divider appears to be well made and of light commercial grade quality. The lightweight aircraft aluminum frame and black fabric panel aren’t as heavy duty as the commercial grade steel panels of years past, but this panel certainly has adequate durability for home or office use. The sleek modern style is aesthetically pleasing, definitely appropriate for commercial applications, it doesn’t look cheap, or out of place. It’s freestanding and portable, with optional locking wheels, measuring 4’ wide X 6’ tall. The top panel is made of a clear fluted fiberglass, providing a window for natural light to filter through. I’m currently using it in my home office to partition of a separate workspace for my college student. It works very well for my purpose, I now have two relatively private workspaces in one office. It’s fairly easy to assemble, but the instructions could be more detailed and illustrative. One thing that I don’t like about it, is that the legs only slide in place, but they don’t bolt to the frame, allowing the legs to slide out of place when the panel is lifted up. The problem isn’t as magnified with the wheels installed, because the panel is then rolled, rather than lifted. It would be much easier to lift and move if the legs were bolted in place. But since I won’t be moving the divider very often, it’s not a deal breaker. Overall, I’m very pleased with the quality and look of this portable divider. At just under $555, it’s perhaps a tad bit overpriced, but still a reasonably good value. I recommend this VERSARE portable divider for home or office applications.
