The PRS SE Hollowbody Standard is designed to feel like a solidbody while delivering the air and bloom of a true hollow instrument. The concept is simple and effective. Keep the footprint and ergonomics familiar, then let an all-mahogany body do the resonance work. The result is quick to respond under a light touch, stable on louder stages, and tonally even from low chord fundamentals to high single note lines.
Top, back, and sides are mahogany with binding, so midrange stays focused and the note outline remains clear in a mix. The 25-inch scale length keeps string tension friendly without getting rubbery. PRS adjustable stoptail hardware couples directly to the body and translates attack into sustain that lasts longer than most fully hollow designs.
The neck is mahogany in the Wide Fat profile, which fills the palm without going clubby. Ebony for the fingerboard brings a crisp edge to transients and a little extra definition for fast passages. You get 22 frets on a 10-inch radius, a 1 11/16-inch nut, and PRS designed tuners that hold pitch without drama. String changes are painless and the setup rewards clean fretting.
Electronics are voiced to stay articulate at stage volumes. The 58/15 LT “S” humbuckers favor clarity and balance, so complex extended chords do not smear and gain stages remain musical. Control layout is deliberately straightforward. Volume, tone, and a three-way toggle provide fast access to tonal transcendence.
Fire Red Burst suits the vintage lean of the platform while the build quality reads modern and tight. A hardshell case is included.
