Queensland Maple is the backbone of this guitar. Queensland Maple is extremely well balanced with an even response across all frequencies. A rainforest hardwood from Northern Queensland, this timber is strong, light, and beautiful. If you are looking for the secret to Maton's great tone, this is a good place to start.

The Tommy Emmanuel models feature a Mother of Pearl block inlay on the 12th Fret, engraved with "C.G.P." The acronym is a title bestowed on Tommy by Chet Atkins and stands for "Certified Guitar Player," it is held by only 3 other guitarists in the world - John Knowles, Jerry Reed, and Steve Wariner.

Tommy has done Australia proud and he continues to use Maton as his guitar of choice.

The AP5 Pro Pickup System includes a separate microphone and piezo pickup, both of which can be blended via their individual controls. The system is designed to capture the true sound of the instrument utilizing the adjustable cardioid mic, which is mounted directly to the pre-amp, and the unique piezo system to permit easy final tweaking of microphone position to suit the individual artist's style.
