I have been working for more than 30 years on porcelain pieces which are thrown on a potter's wheel, individually carved and inlaid with multiple colors of glaze, and finished with gold. Over the years my focus and inspiration has shifted, from Chinese and Japanese to Turkish and Persian; from starkly minimal blacks and whites to lush color; and from a smoothly stone like surface to a texturally varied, almost decadent

I have been working for more than 30 years on porcelain pieces which are thrown on a potter's wheel, individually carved and inlaid with multiple colors of glaze, and finished with gold. Over the years my focus and inspiration has shifted, from Chinese and Japanese to Turkish and Persian; from starkly minimal blacks and whites to lush color; and from a smoothly stone-like surface to a texturally varied, almost decadent surface.
In addition, I have been developing a body of tableware that is intended for daily use; while it is also thrown porcelain, with bright and colorful glazes, it is microwave and dishwasher safe.
The one thing that has never changed is the intent that these pieces are functional as well as decorative. They are meant to be used and enjoyed by the owner, the textures to be touched and the colors to be blended in or contrasted with the living environment.
