The PSS Shaft Seal is the number one selling marine mechanical seal worldwide and is installed as standard equipment by many of the worlds most reputable boat builders / yards. The PSS Shaft Seal is also recognized as the premiere retrofit (aftermarket) seal on the world market. Certified by Bureau Veritas, ABS & Rina: Boat builders / yards recognize the advantages and value of installing the PSS as it eliminates the maintenance, constant adjustment & cost associated with traditional packing type glands. Aside from these benefits, the PSS Shaft Seal helps to eliminate water in the bilge (100% water tight) & wear to the propeller shaft. The PSS Shaft Seal can be easily retrofitted and is available for shafts ranging from 3/4" (20mm) to 6" (150mm).
The PSS Shaft Seal is a mechanical face seal that is created between the flat surfaces of the rotating stainless steel rotor and the stationary carbon flange. The stationary carbon flange is attached to the vessels stern tube with hose clamps and the carbon flange is attached to the front side of the bellows with hose clamps. The stainless steel rotor is fit on the shaft in front of the carbon flange. The stainless steel rotor is used to compress the bellows before the collar is secured to the shaft with set-screws. This compression (pre-load) maintains contact between the faces and allows the PSS to compensate for the thrust from the propeller. The carbon flange is bored larger than the shaft diameter allowing it to "float" around the shaft and thus compensate for most misalignment and vibration problems. The stainless steel collar is sealed to the shaft by two o-rings that are recessed into the bore of the collar. These o-rings rotate with the shaft and stainless steel rotor and do not experience wear during operation.
**As with any rubber hose below waterline, the PSS bellows must be inspected on a regular basis for any sign of wear, aging or chemical deterioration. PYI suggests as preventative maintenance that the PSS bellow be replaced in six year intervals. During bellows replacement it is recommended the o-rings & set screws in the stainless steel rotor also be replaced."
Bellows may need to be more frequently inspected in an environment where non-sealed batteries emit sulfuric acid. Sulfuric acid vapor will accelerate rubber deterioration, as will an ozonater.
The Maintenance Kit includes the items you need to properly maintain your PSS Shaft Seal. Included in the kit is one (1) PSS bellow, two (2) O-rings, five (5) set screws, four (4) new hose clamps and an allen key.

Clearing up my scars

This Mitgary Advanced Scar Gel works really well as a moisturizing aid to my ongoing wound care. It hasn't irritated my skin at all and seems to stop the itchiness that often accompanies my healing wounds. What a relief!
It’s not too thick and sticky and goes on like a gel that spreads evenly and stays over scared areas with no problems. There is no overpowering fragrance but rather a pleasing clean clinical smell that actually pleases me.
Among the formula it has Vitamin E, Retinol, Panthenol and Arginine in addition to the main silicone ingredient. So , as my scars fade away I'm happy with the results so far and will continue to use.

Best Scar Cream I’ve Ever Tried

Love this stuff! I have been using this scar cream for over a year now and have seen huge results within a couple weeks. I love this scar cream because it works in significantly reducing the appearance and coloring of scars, lasts a long time, bigger product than I’ve found in any drug store or pharmacy,!and is affordable! I used to go to drug stores and grocery store such as Walgreen or Walmart to buy scar cream until I found this Advanced Silicone Scar Gel on Amazon. The only scar creams that I could find at local drug stores and grocery stores were brand names scar creams that were tiny and expensive! The scar creams that you buy at drug stores and grocery stores are in tiny tubes about the size of one finger and they cost about $20 and over! Even the off brand Scar creams I found are $15 plus and are also the size of a finger. This product is great for big scars, continued usage, and works well for post acne scars. This is my 2nd time buying from this company and I will continue to support them!

This scar gel is amazing! Feels wonderful on your skin. Helps reduce friction from rubbing your skin, which plastic surgeon encouraged me to do to my scars. He said it helped with healing. I can already vouch for silicone as far as helping to reduce the appearance of scars as I have many from surgery. Most of the scarring is almost invisible now. I have tried many other types of products but this is the best I have tried and will continue using. Good size and great price.

Surprised.

Okay surprised this is working so well, as based on the packaging the legitimacy felt low with weird spacing and typos. That said… it seems to be working? I prefer scar tape but have a few spots that it’s tricky to keep on and this seems to working great for that. I generally have pretty sensitive skin and thus far this isn’t irritating at all and it is helping to further fade surgical scars. It also does seem like a pretty good value at this price point.
