When to Replace
- Visible surface cracks, fraying, or splitting along the belt edges
- Loss of tension resulting in slippage during heavy cutting loads
- Evidence of glazing (shiny or slick appearance) on the inner v-groove surfaces
- Excessive stretching that prevents the tensioner from maintaining proper pressure
- Deep gouges or missing segments caused by debris interference
Installation Tips
- Disconnect the spark plug wire before beginning installation to prevent accidental engine start.
- Ensure the mower deck is fully lowered or removed according to the owner's manual for better access.
- Loosen the belt tensioning hardware fully before attempting to remove the old belt.
- Clean all pulleys of dirt, grass, and oil residue before installing the new belt to ensure proper seating.
- Verify that the belt is correctly routed through all guides and pulleys before applying final tension.
- Run the mower at low throttle for several minutes after installation to seat the belt into the pulley grooves.
