The Fender American Performer Sassafras Stratocaster drops in as a key part of the Limited Edition American Performer Timber Collection. This collection, an assembly of classic Fender American Performer models constructed with new body woods, marks a distinct detour for the series and an exciting point of entry for players new to the American Performer series.
Starting out with the main attraction of the model, this American Performer Stratocaster’s iconic double-cutaway body is formed from sassafras and features a smooth satin Mocha finish. By the choice of wood, in hand, this Stratocaster feels authentic but also distinctive from other Strat models for an overall unique feel and resonance. This sassafras meets with a classic maple neck with its own satin finish and a fast Modern “C” profile perfect for quick maneuvers across the full scale length. A rosewood fingerboard lands on this model with twenty-two Jumbo-sized frets that feel spacious and easily fretted across the fingers, ensuring comfortable playing. A synthetic bone nut and Fender ClassicGear tuners line the larger-styled Strat headstock for solid intonation and quick stringing.
The voice of this American Performer comes to life with three Fender Yosemite Single-Coil Stratocaster pickups that produce key single-coil snap and shimmer the Strat is known for with some added tonal function. A push/pull Greasebucket tone circuit accessible via this Strat’s second tone knob adds the neck pickup in parallel to the first and second pickup positions for added sonic variety and extra colors with which to paint a tonal canvas. Playability and tonality receive extra boosts with this guitar’s 6-Saddle Vintage-Style Synchronized Tremolo bridge that incorporates iconic vibrato bends into the equation for the full classic Strat playing experience.
