Details

As its designation suggests, the symphonie concertante is a hybrid genre that draws on both the symphony and concerto traditions. In the eighteenth century the symphonie concertante assumed two broad styles: a work that was fundamentally symphonic in conception but with important obbligato parts for two or more instruments, or a work that was in most respects indistinguishable from a concerto with multiple soloists in its retention of the characteristic hybrid sonata-ritornello structure. Saint-Georges, an early and important exponent of the genre, favoured the second approach, perhaps because as a virtuoso himself, he felt instinctively drawn to the concerto rather to than the symphony. Both types of work, however, frequently differ from their models in their cyclic structures and in France, where the symphonie concertante enjoyed great popularity, it is common to find two-movement works rather than works in three or four movements. These two-movement symphonies concertantes typically have a conventional first movement followed by a rondo with no intervening slow movement. Indeed, this is structure employed by Saint-Georges in his first published work in the genre, the Symphonie Concertante in C, Op.6 No.1. The second work of the pair, however, does have a slow movement but the cycle concludes with a rondo.

Great value for a nicely made suit that fits athletic builds
Size: Medium, Color: Black
I got this suit for my son whole has a very athletic build (wide shoulders, smaller waist) and we were having the worst time finding a suit that for him well without looking like he was wearing his dad’s oversized suit. This suit fit really well! The vest has a nice buckle I. The back that allowed us to tighten it and cinch in the waist to make it fit nicely under the jacket. The jacket fit well and with vents on both sides of the jacket it allows for movement (and since this is for a dance that was important!) and the jacket is well lined so the structure of the jacket is great. The suit isn’t a shiny polyester material but a nice blend. It does have to be dry cleaned. This is a really nice suit or the price and since ,y son is still growing I don’t want to spend a fortune on a suit, this one works perfectly together him through dance season and next year when he’s grown even more I’ll buy this one again for him to wear for next dance season!

Way too big
Size: XX-Large, Color: Light Gray
Can't really speak to the quality of the suit as it was only tried on, but the look was nice enough. Purchased based on measurements and sizing guide and it was huge. Probably could have gone 2 sizes down but didn't have time to reorder in a different size so just returned. Ordered XXL for son who is 6ft and 220lbs. He wears a large to XL in most tops and a 33x34 in most jeans. Many reviews advised to size up. He was drowning in the XXL. Color was nice light gray.

I sized down
Size: Large, Color: Navy Blue
This suit fit very well! And looks very sharp. It looks great with or without the jacket. I had to size down from my normal large to a medium, but as someone who’s skinny tall, I’ve always wavered between medium and large.
