Discover 'The Power of Art,' a profound exploration of the intrinsic nature and autonomy of art in our contemporary aesthetic landscape. In this compelling 2020 publication, Markus Gabriel, a pioneer of New Realism, delves into the very essence of art's power, challenging preconceived notions that equate beauty with subjective evaluation. He argues against the traditional view that art's value is solely dictated by the market or financial interests.

Instead, Gabriel asserts that art thrives on its uncontrollable nature and fundamental autonomy, deeply rooted in human experience since the earliest cave paintings. This book navigates through philosophical arguments that showcase how art has shaped our identities and interactions with the world. As an essential read for art enthusiasts, philosophers, and those curious about aesthetics, 'The Power of Art' celebrates art’s transformative capabilities, emphasizing its role in reflecting human existence and our perception of reality.

Join the conversation about contemporary art's significance and indulge in a book that illuminates the ambiguous yet powerful nature of art itself. This is not just a read; it is an invitation to redefine your understanding of art's role in society, culture, and personal identity. Don't miss out on adding this significant work to your collection and understanding how it resonates with the modern experience.

Description:
We live in an era of aesthetics. Art has become both pervasive and powerful “ it is displayed not only in museums and galleries but also on the walls of corporations and it is increasingly fused with design. But what makes art so powerful, and in what does its power consist?  According to a widespread view, the power of art “ its beauty “ lies in the eye of the beholder. What counts as art appears to be a function of individual acts of evaluation supported by powerful institutions. On this account, the power of art stems from a force that is not itself aesthetic, such as the art market and the financial power of speculators. Art expresses, in a disguised form, the power of something else “ like money “ that lies behind it. In one word, art has lost its autonomyIn this short book, Markus Gabriel rejects this view He argues that art is essentially uncontrollable. It is in the nature of the work of art to be autonomous to such a degree that the art world will never manage to overpower it. Ever since the cave paintings of Lascaux, art has taken hold of the human mind and implemented itself in our very being. Thanks to the emergence of art we became human beings, that is, beings who lead their lives in light of an image of the human being and its position in the world and in relation to other species. Due to its structural, ontological power, art itself is and remains radically autonomous. Yet, this power is highly ambiguous, as we cannot control its unfoldingIn this book, a leading proponent of New Realism applies this philosophical perspective to art to create a new ae

Quality for your money.
Color: Apricot, Size: 16 Inch
I am beyond pleased. Everything works well. I was just think yesterday after looking at it that i will have this bag long because it strong like keep for years strong, no joke. It is worth it. Easy to use, the space is enough for a University Student like me, and it adjsut well but I'm guessing it's manufacturing problem as one starp is longer than the other and feels funny at time but I work around it and adjust to my comfort.

Perfect. A must have!
Size: XX-Large, Color: Nude
Perfect fit! After 2 battles with breast cancer and breast reconstruction I find it very difficult to find strapless or any bra for that matter that fit and are comfortable … this bra not only fits it stays put! I have purchased some pricey ones in the past but this gives a lot of bang for your buck. I also love the fact it stays in place- has rubber like adhesive that sticks to your skin and has no wires. I feel mangled after basically being amputated by a double mastectomy- I worry about the bra falling down exposing the fact I have no “nips” because cancer took all that away from me. Additionally, I like that it comes with removable straps for adjustability for extra support if needed. The quality seems to be good but I have yet to wash, just like any bra - gentle cycle wash and a flat air dry will extend the life of the bra.

Doesn't slip down
Size: XX-Large, Color: Black
Holds up very well for day to day work and doesn't slip down. Came with straps as well. Material feels great. I would base sizing off of your usual band size more than cup. Got a XXL when measured I'm usually a 38B or 36C and those sizes are too small to be comfortable and it said I'd match with a large so I went up based upon my bra experiences. Pink color isn't really a good pink tone more closer to nude and dull if anything. But all the other styles and colors are great. It feels very supportive and covers all the right places while smoothing out back rolls. It's a good stretch when you put it on to and then conforms to the chest. Pads are a little over the place but they're removable so that's expected.
