When to Replace
- Visible signs of wear such as cracking, fraying, or glazing on the belt surface.
- Belt slipping, causing inconsistent blade speed or poor cutting performance.
- Audible squealing or chirping noises from the deck during operation.
- Deck fails to engage or blades do not rotate when the PTO is activated.
Installation Tips
- For safety, disconnect the spark plug wire before beginning work.
- Photograph or sketch the original belt's routing around all pulleys before removal.
- Release the belt tension by disengaging the deck's tensioner spring or mechanism.
- Inspect all pulleys for damage or wear; ensure they spin freely and are clean of debris.
- Route the new belt according to your routing diagram, ensuring it is seated correctly in all pulley grooves.
- Re-engage the tensioner and verify the belt has proper tension before reconnecting the spark plug.
