Discover the dark underbelly of New Orleans with 'Murder in New Orleans,' a gripping exploration of homicide trends between 1925 and 1940. Authored by Jeffrey S. Adler, this compelling narrative delves into over two thousand recorded murders, piecing together police reports, autopsies, and newspaper archives to paint a vivid picture of a city gripped by violence and racial injustice. Perfect for history enthusiasts and those interested in criminal justice, this book reveals how societal factors influenced crime rates, showcasing a striking contrast in the treatment of white and Black offenders during a pivotal time in American history.Through meticulous research, Adler examines the alarming homicide rate of New Orleans, which was significantly higher than that of major cities like New York and Boston. Furthermore, the book thoughtfully addresses legal, political, and cultural contexts that fueled this epidemic of violence. As you explore the pages, you'll uncover how the murder rate soared during the prosperous Roaring Twenties only to drop dramatically during the Great Depression, underscoring the societal complexities entangled in crime.
'Murder in New Orleans' is not just a chronicle of historical violence; it critically engages with themes of racism and policing that remain relevant today. This book is a must-have for readers interested in the intersection of crime, race, and societal dynamics, making it an invaluable addition to your library. Dive into this enlightening read and gain a deeper understanding of the legacy of violence and injustice in one of America’s most enigmatic cities.

Quality booties that don’t fall off
Size: 0-3 Months Infant, Color: Ivory Sherpa, Size: 0-3 Months Infant, Color: Ivory Sherpa
Love these booties - super cute, quality made, and they don’t fall off even when we’re passing the baby around. We put these on without socks; the booties are not lined with fleece but has a firm sole. I got the 0-3 months size for my 3 month old and there’s still a little bit of room to grow. Easy to put on baby’s wiggling feet and there are two snap buttons to select for fit. There’s really no grip on these so not sure how they hold up for walking. The fleece is plush and seems to keep baby’s feet warm.

In the winter/fall months these were our go to shoes for our daughter! They were comfortable for her and kept her feet warm. Easy to put on and take off and so cute!! We’ve washed them quite a few times and they hold up really well.

Cute and stay on wiggly baby!
Size: 0-3 Months Infant, Color: Ivory Sherpa
Love these boots because they are so cute and stay on my wiggly baby's feet because of the snap that holds them in place. I also like how there are two different snaps to choose from depending on how thick your baby's feet are.

Cozy Robeez
Robeez have always been my go-to baby shoe. They are good quality and a good fit with room to grow. I never go by the month sizing since it really varies for each child. These cozy booties are nice and soft with the same fit as the standard robeez soft sole shoes. These are adjustable with two snaps options to make them tighter or looser.

Prefer over socks!
Size: 12-18 Months Toddler, Color: Pink Sherpa
These are a great option for babies and toddlers that won’t keep their socks on! We wear these all the time- my little girl even takes naps in them sometimes. They are soft and washable and I love that they have the grippies on the bottom now that she’s walking. She doesn’t slip in them even when walking like she does in some socks.
