Uncover a new perspective on America's fight for independence with 'The Cause' by Joseph J. Ellis. This compelling narrative delves into the Revolutionary War from 1773 to 1783, revealing a tapestry woven with both familiar and lesser-known historical figures. Ellis brings to light the intense struggles of the revolutionaries, portraying the conflict as one of the most brutal in American history, surpassed only by the Civil War. Readers will discover the complexities of the war, characterized by 'prudent' revolutionaries whose decisions, while wise in intent, led to tragic consequences, particularly regarding the issue of slavery—an original sin still echoing in today's society. With 400 pages of meticulously researched content, this book challenges traditional narratives and invites readers to reconsider the origins of our nation. Ideal for history enthusiasts and students alike, 'The Cause' promotes a nuanced understanding of the American Revolution, making it an essential addition to any bookshelf. Description:
George Washington claimed that anyone who attempted to provide an accurate account of the war for independence would be accused of writing fiction. At the time, no one called it the ?American Revolution?: former colonists still regarded themselves as Virginians or Pennsylvanians, not Americans, while John Adams insisted that the British were the real revolutionaries, for attempting to impose radical change without their colonists' consent.
With The Cause, Ellis takes a fresh look at the events between 1773 and 1783, recovering a war more brutal than any in American history save the Civil War and discovering a strange breed of ?prudent? revolutionaries, whose prudence proved wise yet tragic when it came to slavery, the original sin that still haunts our land. Written with flair and drama, The Cause brings together a cast of familiar and forgotten characters who, taken together, challenge the story we have long told ourselves about our origins as a people and a nation.

Nice Suit
Color: Deep Grey, Size: XX-Large, Color: Deep Grey, Size: XX-Large
Great quality for the price. Purchased during a flash sale. Comes with a bowtie and crown pin. My husband is 6'3 and 215lbs. This is a slim fit and the pants fit well without a belt. He normally wears a 36×34 and this suit was an XXL. He has big biceps and the jacket fits well in a relaxed state, but it's a bit tight when he lifted his arms or flexed.

Love this tuxedo!
Love this tuxedo! I purchased this tuxedo in a size Small for my son to wear to a wedding. He is 5”10 and weighs 180 lbs. Everything fit well except the pants needed to be hemmed a bit. My son looked very handsome in this tux and received several compliments. Great buy!
