This Gibson Custom Shop 1959 ES-355 Reissue in light aged Watermelon starts with a three-ply maple and poplar body combined with a solid maple centerblock. Staying light on its feet while resisting feedback, this semi-hollow design has stood the test of time. With its finely crafted body comes a loving visual tribute. This ES-355 has been treated with a meticulously formulated finish from the Gibson Custom Shop Murphy Lab. Designed to recreate the overall and subtle signs of natural finish aging, the Murphy Lab Light Aged finish treatment gives this ES-355 a truly unique look.

Playing this ES-355 presents an exceptionally smooth and sonically impressive experience. Two Custombucker Alnico 3 unpotted humbucking pickups deliver on the decades of knockout tones the ES-355 has become known for. Gibson's resonant and radiant semi-hollow and humbucker combination rings out with glorious warmth and clarity.

A solid mahogany neck outfitted in an Authentic '59 Medium C-Shape profile slips into grip easily and is complemented by a solid ebony fingerboard. An ABR-1 bridge is paired with a lightweight aluminum Stop Bar tailpiece for solid intonation.

The Watermelon Red finish has the look of a faded Gibson "Sixties Cherry", but perhaps a bit more translucent and a touch more pink in the mix.
