The Martin D-35 has been around the block, inspiring players since the mid-1960s with its booming sound and signature 3-piece back. Back and better than ever, we have the Martin D-35 Standard. In 2025, Martin reimagined the Standard Series, focusing on player enhancements in tone, comfort, and style.

Built in Nazareth, PA, the dreadnought is hand-crafted from a spruce top and is paired with an East Indian rosewood back/sides. No D-35 is complete without its 3-piece back, a detail that was originally implemented in the '60s to use smaller pieces of the dwindling supply of Brazilian rosewood. It's body and top are supported with the newly added Golden Era non-scalloped forward shifted x-bracing to deliver a balanced and powerful voice. Antique white binding wraps the top and back of the body, while a faux tortoise pickguard, and a style 28 rosette pop against the top's aging toner finish.

It's bound select hardwood neck is attached to the body at the 14th fret by a traditional Dovetail neck joint. The satin neck sports a GE Modified Low Oval profile with a high performance taper. The neck is topped with a 16-inch radius ebony fingerboard, mother of pearl dot inlays, and is crowned with 20 frets. Martin has made the fingerboard slightly thinner, a spec change that is visually not so apparent, but makes a difference feel wise. Strings in loaded into the improved GE modern belly bridge and are capped with bone pins before being tuned to pitch at the sqaure shapped headstock with the chrome enclosed tuning machines. The D-35 comes complete with a hardshell case for safekeeping.
