The top note opens with Sicilian Bergamot, Pink Pepper and Exotic Fruits, followed by middle notes of Sea Notes and Ambergris, ending with a base note of Woodsy Notes, Indonesian Patchouli Leaf and Leather.

Explorer Ultra Blue is housed in an elongated shaped bottle wrapped with a leather-like protective sheath printed with the Saffiano motif, adorned with the signature star of the house. The sleeve and emblem are assembled by hand at the Montblanc Pelleteria in Florence.

Replacement for the older model - so far, so good
I had the previous version of this and the battery wore out after a couple of years. This one seems to be working very well so far. It's simple to use. Cut the wine bottle foil with the included cutter and just push the opener down on the top of the bottle. The screw automatically inserts in the cork, pulling it form the bottle, and then reverses itself to eject the cork. Unlike the old version, there's no button to press, it's all automatic. Flip the opener over and use the included airtight tops when you want to recork the bottle: it will vacuum out all the air in the bottle to prevent spoilage. Makes a great gift for a "wine enthusiast".
