The railroad signal box contains the electronics and back-up batteries to control the crossing signals and arms/gates. The prototype for this model is found on the Norfolk Southern Marion Branch in Indiana, but this style may be found all over the country. The back-up batteries in this style are housed in a separate battery box. Located near the signal box, the battery boxes were typically constructed of concrete with a metal cover. This set is a 6 pack and does not contain any actual electronics. The model is resin 3D printed for maximum detail in HO scale (1:87), and measures approximately 0.5" wide, 0.27" deep and 0.62" tall. The battery box is approximately 0.4" wide, 0.4" deep and 0.2" tall. The model comes unpainted. This model is for display only. It is not a toy. The model contains small parts that could present a choking hazard to children. It contains UV cured resin and should not be displayed in direct sunlight.

the "fit" is very precise

Nice Fabrication, Good materials, perfect adhesive applications, "clean joints" etc. Appears to be a good UPGRADE from the stock Motorcraft product. CONs: The FIT was a "smidge TIGHT", and took very precise initial alignment and "pressure" to begin to slide into the rectangular hole. I measured the "Hole" at 7.375" wide, or (187.33 mm)... the FILTER is exactly the SAME. I would suggest maybe reducing the Width by 1 mm, to allow for an easier installation. The MOTORCRAFT uses an "open-cell" foam structure for the (2) Side pieces on their filter assembly, allowing some "compression to fit", of the Width, easing the difficulty of installation, yet still filling all voids. In summation, the "fit" is very precise. Not to be hurried or rushed, maybe a bit meticulous for the impatient or weak of heart.
