Our Spring Issue is here. As the art world prepares for yet another jam-packed season, we venture out to places outside the rarefied orbit of biennales and weekend gallery crawls, where other temporalities and the weight of both past and future give rise to new forms of action and activism. The result is one of our most ambitious issues yet. Plus: the latest GLEAN artist edition by Ced’art Tamasala, member of CATPC.

Guest Editor CATPC
Our Guest Editor for this Spring issue is the Lusanga-based artist collective CATPC (Cercle d’Art des Travailleurs de Plantations Congolaise). Founded in 2014, CATPC is both a physical space and a conceptual laboratory to rethink colonial power relations within the global art world. Together with artist Renzo Martens and curator Hicham Khalidi, the collective will represent the Netherlands at this year’s Venice Biennale.
CATPC invited Jean Katambayi Mukendi to contribute an essay. This special supplement also includes an excerpt from the script of CATPC’s unreleased film Judgement of the White Cube; photos by Brussels- and Kinshasa-based photographer Léonard Pongo, who visited the collective in Lusanga as early as 2016; drawings by CATPC founding member Matthieu Kasiama; and a conversation between Kathleen Weyts and artist Ced’art Tamasala, also one of the collective’s co-founders.

The Artist’s Library
UK-based Katie Paterson’s Future Library allows us – and future generations – to travel through time. None other than Margaret Atwood was the first author to be invited to take part in the project, in which participants write a book that will be sealed in a vault for a hundred years before being published. With the Library’s tenth anniversary coming up, Els Roelandt made her way to Oslo to speak with its founder.

Jim Shaw
‘Your Future is All Used Up’ was one of the possible titles for Jim Shaw’s solo exhibition at M HKA in Antwerp. But it became ‘The Ties That Bind.’ Nothing is what it seems in Jim Shaw’s world of accumulation, not even the titles. Phillip Van den Bossche spoke with the artist, who seems to prefer a world beyond the orderly and ordinary.

Martin Margiela
In a rare interview, Martin Margiela sheds light on his artistic process and discusses his upcoming exhibitions at Bernier/Eliades Gallery in Athens and Brussels. Margiela talks about serendipity, traces, found objects and sudden triggers of desire in achieving excellence. But also about failure and doubt and the transition from fashion to visual art. Margiela himself provided the art direction for the layout of the interview, which was written by Birte Carolin von Knoblauch.

Barbara Visser
Barbara Visser’s most recent documentary, Alreadymade (2023), explores the hypothesis that Baroness Elsa von Freytag-Loringhoven (aka Baroness Dada) was the true author of Fountain (1917), the infamous pedestal-mounted urinal cited as the first significant readymade in art (and conventionally attributed to Marcel Duchamp). Febe Lamiroy spoke with the Dutch artist about her new film and the eponymous exhibition in Kunsthaus Zürich, which is on view through 15 May.

Will help you to understand God's love and grace and the work of the holy spirit
Format: Hardcover, Format: Hardcover
This is a really great study bible especially if you are looking for a first time study bible it has lots of pages and is kind of heavy I used to be KJV only but have come to love the NKJV because its almost exactly like the KJV except it takes out the way they talked when KJV was releasedit doesnt include thee thou and words like sayeth instead has a lot of word you and better to understand. It is filled with God's love and grace and will help you to understand God's love and grace and also to study the bible. I got out of living a fear based relationship with God and living by works and having religious perfectionism this study bible has helped to reinforce the work of God's love and will help you if you read the bible and feel condemned or are struggling to understand. It's got great notes a big section rather than few which i didnt like that many study bibles dont have enough notes this has extra parts to help you to understand and also included prayers and has a good outline of yhe original text that is very well to read rather than making you feel overwhelmed. If you are looking for your first time study bible or are considering buying this I would reccomend it, don't be thrown off by the title of the study bible. Godbless.

I can't put this bible down!
What a perfect size. The font is totally readable and enhances the experience (way to go 2K/Denmark). The layout is an invitation to read: simple bible text with little to no distractions. References on the sides of the page are a great idea. All the references you might desire are there but they're out of the way - they don't interfere with your ability to pay attention to the bible text. The slightly cream toned white paper is sublime: wonderfully opaque and easy to page turn. The line matched text solves ghosting issues you've doubtlessly hated in previous bibles. I LOVE the red text (not words of Christ in red, this is a black letter edition) - it is the perfect artistic accent and it's functional as well. The red under gold art gilt page edging is so beautiful. It's a joy to open this bible up to see that red tone appear - a red tone matched to the red text (wow!). And even the three double sided silk ribbons (two black, one red) match the overall design of the bible. The goatskin is ... amazing ... this is my first goatskin bible and I'll not go back to any other type of leather again. It is nicely floppy on the first day. The bible feels like it is fully broken in on the first day you open it. The leather has a nice (naturally) pebbly texture but also feels somewhat smooth and is edge sewn for years of use. The edge gilt on the inside of the cover is beautifully done and perfectly frames the text block when the bible lies open - which it does flawlessly. The spine of the bible lacks raised dividers instead having printed dividers. They do the job nicely and the dual thin gold lines at each location is a very nice artistic touch adding to the overall presentation of the finished product. Simple text on the spine tastefully complete the overall design: HOLY BIBLE ... New King James Version ... Thomas Nelson. Nothing else is needed. Things that are somewhat unimportant to me but should be mentioned in case these matter to you: the bible maps are nicely done and the sizable concordance is impressive (albeit the font is a bit small). Note I'm in my 60's now and I've noticed many of my old bibles (old, dear friends) seem to have shrinking text recently. Ah, 60's ... oh joy. That is what drove me to seek out bibles with the 2K/Denmark fonts. This has been such a delightful surprise. The bible is a complete invitation to read. I read it daily and wish I had more time to devote to it. This is, to date, the best bible I've ever owned at any price point. I gladly give this bible my highest recommendation.

Great Bible and Commentary
Format: Hardcover
Fantastic Bible and commentary. My friend bought this for me before I was saved, and it has been an amazing resource ever since. My understanding of Scripture has been helped significantly by this.

The Book of Knowledge !
The Spirit-Filled Life Bible, authored by Jack Haford is the best study bible. There is so much more information to help with understanding the Scriptures. I've had mine since July 1994! There is a college education inside the Spirit-Filled Life Bible!
