Recorded in 1971 at Chappell Recording Studios in London during his exile, "Transa," Caetano Veloso's sixth studio album, was released in January 1972. The seven-track album was produced by British artist Ralph Mace and featured musical direction by Jards Macalé, who also plays guitar on the track "It's A Long Way."  With a band consisting of Áureo de Souza (drums), Moacyr Albuquerque (bass), Tutty Moreno (percussion), and Jards Macalé (acoustic and electric guitar), the album also features Angela Ro Ro, with 22 years old, who brought her charming harmonica to Caetano Veloso's seductive song, "Nostalgia (That's What Rock'n'Roll Is All About)," the album's closing track. This collaboration on Caetano's album gave the then-newcomer a boost to her musical career. The album has a rock vibe that subtly echoes the artist's other major influences: MPB songs and the sounds of Bahia. Even so, it still retains a touch of the melancholy of his first London album, titled simply "Caetano Veloso," released in 1971.  The project was released with the distinctive triple-fold cover, in which the booklet and cover formed a triangle. The idea was nicknamed "discobjeto" by Bahian actor and theater director Álvaro Guimarães, who created the bold graphic design alongside Aldo Luiz.

Great for young readers!
Format: Board book
Very cute book, just the way I remember it, with thick pages for easy grabbing. The colors are vibrant and the shiny scales are shimmery! Package arrived on time and just as described.

Adorable, sparkly little board book for youngsters!
Format: Board book
Quick book about sharing and friendship. Beautiful board book with sparkles on the fish. Including the cover, there are 6 pages to turn. I bought for the kids I babysit (age 11 months and age 4). Excellent little book for a child or teacher's library!

Classic Kids Book
Format: Board book
The Rainbow Fish is one of those children’s books that has been around forever for a reason. The story is sweet and the illustrations are beautiful. It is a great book to read with kids and one that seems to stick around in family libraries for years.

Great illustrations but not sure about the story
Format: Board book
My toddler is obsessed with all things fish, so when she picked out The Rainbow Fish from Amazon search. The illustrations are gorgeous, and my daughter is mesmerized by the sparkly, foil-like scales on the fish. She keeps pointing at them every time we read it, and it’s become a bedtime favorite just for the shiny colors! One thing I found a little odd is the story: the Rainbow Fish gives away all her beautiful scales to make friends. It’s a sweet message about sharing, but as a parent I admit it made me scratch my head a bit (I wasn’t sure if my toddler really gets why the fish parts with all her sparkles). Still, it’s a friendly tale and we enjoy reading it together.
