De wijnen bezitten veel tannines in hun jeugd en kunnen best 5 7 jaar bewaard worden, alvorens openen. Op zijn best zijn deze wijnen na 20 jaar en ouder. L'Evangile heeft een intense, diepe kleur en aroma's van bloemen, bramen en frambozen. De aanzet is weelderig en rijk met een lange, intense afdronk met een mineralige touch.

Château l'Evangile bevindt zich in de gemeente Pomerol en naaste buren zijn Château Petrus en Château Cheval Blanc. Château l'Evangile heeft geen officiele klassificatie, maar behoort tot de meest geroemde en bekendste wijnen van Bordeaux en de gehele wereld. Château l'Evangile is bezit van de Rothschild Group sinds 1990. Het domein is 14 ha groot en produceert (inclusief de tweede wijn) 5.000 dozen per jaar. Vinificatie:De alcoholische fermentatie geschiedt in cementen vaten en duurt 8-12 dagen. De wijn wordt daarna overgestoken naar houten barriques, waar deze gedurende 20-24 maanden rijpt.
