Sinds enkele jaren heeft Mount Riley bijzondere wijngaard vergaard in andere delen van het Zuider-eiland van Nieuw-Zeeland. De prachtige Sauvignon blanc druiven voor deze Mount Riley Sauvignon blanc Limited Release groeien voor een klein gedeelte buiten de kaders van Marlborough. Zo 30% procent van de druiven is afkomstig uit Awatere Valley, op ongeveer twee en een half uur rijden ten zuiden van de Marlborough.
