Wat deze pan echt bijzonder maakt, is zijn hittebestendigheid. Hij is geschikt voor gebruik in de oven tot een temperatuur van 250 °C, wat hem perfect maakt voor gerechten die je eerst wilt aanbraden en daarna wilt afmaken in de oven. Op het fornuis kan de WMF Durado zelfs temperaturen aan tot 400 °C, waardoor hij uitstekend presteert bij hoge hitte voor bijvoorbeeld het dichtschroeien van vlees of het snel bakken van groenten.
