Wijn en gerecht : Fantastische wijn om te drinken met verfijnd vlees zoals fazant, patrijs, eend, konijn, hert, rosbief en kalfszwezerik.

De wijn : In de neus: fijn en precies, de aroma's van rood fruit vermengen zich subliem met de lichte houtachtige tonen.  Subtiele geuren van vanille en viooltjes.

In de mond ervaren wij een krachtige wijn die fris en verfijnd van smaak is en waarbij het sappige rode fruit de aardse tonen en de perfecte houtrijping een complexe maar geweldig fijne en lange afdronk geven. Deze afdronk is elegant mineraal en accentueert de zuiverheid van de Santenay 1e cru : een echte topwijn!

Temperatuur : 16°C

Serveertip 1 : Karafferen  - Zeker enkele uren op voorhand karafferen ! Door de wijn veel lucht te geven worden de tannines versneld zachter. Karafferen gaat zo: schenk de wijn over in een ruime karaf zodat de wijn goed in contact komt met zuurstof. De aroma's komen zo mooi 'los' en de wijn 'geeft' zich beter.

Domaine Françoise en Denis Clair

Opgericht door Françoise en Denis Clair in 1986 met een oppervlakte van 5 ha, heeft dit domein wijngaarden in zowel Saint-Aubin als Santenay.


Ondertussen is na de intrede van hun zoon Jean-Baptiste de wijngaard uitgegroeid tot 14 ha. De witte en rode wijnen behoren tot de aantrekkelijkste van Bourgogne. 

De familie Clair was een van de eersten die de voordelen inzag van het koelen van druiven na de oogst om het maximale uit hun aromatische potentieel te halen.
De meeste percelen van hun wijngaarden liggen langs het plateau met de grootste grand cru's en premier cru's van Puligny Montrachet, pal naar het zuiden gericht. De bodem is ondiep en erg rotsachtig, met veel kalksteen. De helft van de wijnstokken is 60 jaar oud, de andere helft 20 jaar oud. De oogst is steeds met de hand.


Santenay

Ten zuiden van de côte de Beaune, beschermd door haar molen, heeft Santenay alle charme van een dorpje middenin de top-wijngaarden van Bourgogne. Op het plein in de dorpskern met de mooie waterfontein staan de typisch witte huizen van Santenay. In dit wijndorp is men trots Bourgondiër te zijn en is men vol lof over de wijnen van Santenay. Ontdek de wijngaarden en de pittoreske buur-dorpjes aan de voet van de zonnige hellingen van de Côte de Beaune.

Met illustere buren zoals Chassagne-Montrachet, Puligny-Montrachet, en de mythische Grand Cru Montrachet, hebben de wijngaarden van Santenay alle troeven in handen om heel grote wijnen te produceren.

Major Safety Red Flag! 3 Prong Outlets, 2 Prong Plug, This Does Not Provide A Grounded Connection!

This power strip has a compact design, a convenient outlet layout, and USB ports, so on the surface it looks useful. The patented three-row layout is clever for spacing the outlets, but that only applies to how the outlets are positioned. It does not change how the strip is actually powered or protected. The problem is the safety design. It has 11 three-prong outlets, but the wall plug itself is only two-prong. Without a ground prong, it is not grounded. The two flat prongs are hot and neutral only, so this does not provide the grounded protection that the three-prong outlets appear to suggest. That also makes the surge protection claims highly questionable to me. A real grounded surge protector should have a grounding path for excess surge energy. With only a two-prong plug, I would not trust this to provide the kind of surge protection people generally expect when plugging in electronics or grounded devices. The manual mentions surge protection, ground protection, short-circuit protection, over-current protection, over-voltage protection, over-heat protection, and UL 1363 safety standards, but I could not find any visible UL, ETL, or similar safety certification mark on the unit or paperwork. The only marking I saw was FCC, which is not the same thing as electrical safety certification. Given the two-prong plug and three-prong outlets, those protection claims feel dubious at best and misleading at worst. The USB charging is also underwhelming. The total USB output is listed as 24W, which is not much for today’s devices, especially when that power is shared across multiple ports. We frequently use 35W or higher from a single USB charger, so I would not buy this for fast or modern device charging either. Because of the two-prong plug paired with three-prong outlets, I will absolutely not use this. I do not want a power strip that makes devices appear protected or grounded when they are not. For me, this is not a small design issue. It is a serious safety concern.

Convenient Design but Raises Some Safety Concerns

As other reviews have mentioned, this power strip does not provide true grounding protection. It allows devices with three-prong plugs to connect through a two-prong wall outlet, but the strip itself still relies on a two-prong connection. Because of that, I think it’s important to understand the potential safety limitations before using it, especially with higher-powered electronics. It does offer a large number of outlets and USB ports, which is convenient for older homes with limited access to modern plugs. However, considering the price, there are safer and more reliable alternatives available that may be a better long-term choice.
