Achtergrondinformatie: Van deze exclusieve wijn worden slechts 2.500 kisten gemaakt. De druiven komen van 50 jaar oude ranken en rijpen 12 tot 15 maaanden in houten vaten.

Het waren de pausen, die geïnstalleerd waren in Avignon in de veertiende eeuw en de speciale “ terroir “ van Châteauneuf-du-Pape ontdekten. Onder het bewind van Johannes XXII, wordt het dorp de zomerresidentie van de paus.
