Omschrijving
In 1864 werd Quinta de Santa Eufemia opgericht door Bernardo Rodrigues de Carvalho. Hij begon met het produceren van Douro wijn en Port wijn. Daarnaast breide hij de hoeveelheid wijngaarden uit. De passie die hij had is van generatie op generatie doorgeven. Op dit moment staat de 4e generatie aan het roer van dit familiebedrijf.

Quinta de Santa Eufemia ligt in de vallei van de Douro rivier, in het hart van de oudste erkende wijnregio ter wereld. De Quinta bezit 50 hectare aan fieldblend druiven (meer dan 20 inheemse soorten) die groeien op leistenen bodems.

Het bedrijf kiest ervoor om uitsluitend uit eigen productie port (en wijn) te produceren. Dit betekend dat ze de naam Quinta op de fles mogen voeren. Alle facetten worden op de Quinta zelf uitgevoerd en de kwaliteit in alle onderdelen, van stok tot kurk, worden door de familie zelf beheerst.

Deze port wordt op een gecontroleerde temperatuur 14 maanden in RVS-tanks gerijpt.
