Wat is SR-9009?

SR9009, ook bekend als Stenabolic, is onderzocht bij muizen en heeft aangetoond dat het de loopsnelheid verhoogt, het niveau van obesitas verlaagt en de mitochondriale productie stimuleert. Hierdoor verbeteren spiermassa en stofwisseling.

Hoewel SR-9009 vaak wordt geassocieerd met selectieve androgeenreceptormodulatoren (SARM's), functioneert het via andere routes. Het is een Rev-ErbA-agonist (nucleaire receptor), met invloed op onder andere lever, skeletspieren, hersenen en het circadiane ritme.

SR-9009 en gewichtsverlies

In een studie van Solt et al. kregen muizen tweemaal daags injecties met SR-9009 of zoutoplossing, terwijl ze een vetrijk dieet volgden (60% vet, 20% koolhydraten). Het doel was om de effecten van SR-9009 te meten bij dieet-geïnduceerde obesitas (bron).

Hoewel beide groepen vet verloren door injectiestress, verloren de SR-9009-muizen 60% meer vet. Tevens daalden bij deze muizen de plasmawaarden van triglyceriden (−12%), totaal cholesterol (−47%), glucose (−19%), leptine (−80%) en inflammatoire cytokinen (−72%).

SR-9009 en botdichtheid

In een studie van Song et al. werden vrouwelijke muizen onderverdeeld in groepen met een ovariëctomie (postmenopauzaal model) of schijnoperatie. Ze kregen verschillende doses SR-9009 toegediend (bron).

Resultaten toonden dat SR-9009 de vorming van osteoclasten remde, wat duidt op minder botafbraak. Muizen met een ovariëctomie hadden na suppletie meer bottrabeculae in dijbeen en scheenbeen. Het botvolume nam toe met een factor van 1.550, 1.701 of 1.601 bij doseringen van respectievelijk 30, 50 of 100 mg/kg.

Be Very Cautious!

Splinters easily if you have an aggressive chewer! Although very tasty, within hours of a dog (lab/shepherd mix) I care for excitedly indulging in it, I was picking pieces he easily could have choked on (or worse). The large end of the bone splintered/cracked quicker than other bones he’s had which makes it very dangerous. Value for money is iffy due to that.
