Indiase Guggul (Commiphora mukul)

Deze struikachtige boom groeit in de droge gebieden van Pakistan en Noord-India. Guggul wordt in de Ayurveda-traditie gewaardeerd om zijn ondersteunende werking op het verteringsstelsel en het onderlichaam. Als wierook draagt het bij aan het verdrijven van negatieve energie en staat het bekend om zijn aardende werking. In Nepal en Tibet wordt het gebruikt tijdens magische en spirituele rituelen, waar het de vuurkracht versterkt en helpt spanning los te laten. Tegelijk nodigt het uit tot een diep gevoel van rust en overgave. Daarnaast helpt het je om jezelf te beschermen tegen muggen.

Gebruiksaanwijzing

Guggul is geschikt om te branden op houtskool of in speciale zeefwierookbranders, waarbij het brandproces op de zeefbranders iets rustiger verloopt. Je kunt deze wierook ook mengen met andere soorten in een grotere zeefbrander. Voor het veilig aansteken en hanteren zijn er handige tangen, een stalen borsteltje om de zeef te reinigen en een fazantenveer om de geur zacht te verspreiden. De losse wierookbrander zeef van 125 mm past goed op een olieverdamper als het bakje wordt verwijderd.
