Mycorrhiza is grieks en betekent ‘schimmelwortel’. Het is een samenlevingsverband van planten met bepaalde schimmels. Mycorrhiza-schimmels zijn in de natuur voor alle planten een bestaansvoorwaarde. Ze zijn perfect aangepast om in de bodem water en mineralen te vinden en deze aan de plant door te geven. Die maakt via fotosynthese de nodige koolstofverbindingen en voedt daarmee op haar beurt de schimmel. Beide partners profiteren van elkaar en dat is dan ook de reden waarom meer dan 99% van alle planten een dergelijke symbiose aangaat.

Deze schimmels groeien in en om de plantenwortel. Vanuit de wortel groeien zij in de grond en maken een dicht netwerk van fijne schimmeldraden. Hierdoor wordt het wortelstelsel vergroot, waardoor de opname van water en mineralen zoals fosfor, kali en sporenelementen wordt verbeterd. De schimmels kunnen bodemporiën bereiken die te klein zijn voor plantenwortels en kunnen gebonden elementen voor de plant beschikbaar maken.

Gebruiksaanwijzing :

Gebruik 5 gram per plant rond de wortels en meng dit goed door de aarde.
