Op dit album maakte Freddie gebruik van disco-, dance- en popinvloeden om een nieuwe, eigen sound te creëren die los stond van zijn werk met Queen, wat resulteerde in de behoorlijk uptempo en dansbare singles, terwijl "Made In Heaven" en "Love Me Like There's No Tomorrow" Freddie’s meest gevoelige rockballed kant lieten zien.
