CBN of zijn complete naam Cannabinol is één van de vele bruikbare stoffen uit de cannabisplant. Naast de bekende THC (tetrahydrocannabinol) en CBD (Cannabidiol), die veel mensen kennen, is er nog een heel scala aan andere cannabinoïden, die allemaal andere eigenschappen hebben. Om een specifieke werking van de CBN aan te geven is het nog te vroeg in het wetenschappelijk onderzoek, maar als eventuele ondersteuning voor het lichaam kan het erg waardevol zijn.

CBN is een NIET psychoactieve stof die ontstaat wanneer THC gaat oxideren, ofwel voor langere tijd bloot wordt gesteld aan zonlicht en zuurstof.
