Wat direct opvalt bij de Ficus Ginseng is de dikke en vertakte luchtwortel, die van elke plant weer anders is. De wortel wordt gekweekt in China en Maleisië en groeit daat zeker 15 jaar. Ze worden door Nederlandse kwekers geïmporteerd en in de kas als Bonsai afgekweekt. Bij een goede verzorging is de plant jaren houdbaar en is net als de Bonsai verder vorm te geven. Uitlopers die de vorm van de Ficus ontsieren kunnen makkelijk worden bijgeknipt. De Ficus Ginseng kan zowel op een lichte plek als een wat beschaduwde plek gezet worden. Geef de plant gemiddeld 1 keer per week water en als de plant op een lichte plek staat 2 keer. Geef eens in de maand voeding mee.
De beste tips om uw plant te verzorgen:
Veel licht, niet in de felle zon. Ideale temperatuur 18 – 20º C. Vochtig houden, potgrond mag niet uitdrogen. Geen overtollig water in de pot / schotel laten staan. 2x per maand bemesten. Elk jaar overpotten in grotere pot. Luchtzuiverend. Niet in een tochtige ruimte plaatsen.
