En zo besloten ze de handen ineen te slaan met producer Bernard Gepken (Daniël Lohues, Tangarine, Rob Dekay) en Frans Hagenaars (Excelsior Recordings). Omringd door een team van de beste studiomuzikanten speelden ze de nummers live in in de studio aan het Amsterdamse IJ. Met de toevoegingen van Mischa Porte, Ferry Lagendijk, David Gram en vele anderen, de arrangementen van Reyer Zwart en een sessie met de Dutch String Collective kun je wel zeggen dat de mannen all-in zijn gegaan.

Maar het laat ze zeker niet met lege handen achter. Empty Pockets is een album met elf sterke nummers die worden vertolkt met de live feel van Springsteens Seeger Sessions. Een plaat die niet alleen muzikaal klopt, maar waar volgens goede Americanatraditie ook veel aandacht is besteed aan de teksten. Van een zwart sprookjesachtig duet met VanWyck tot de Dylanesque Hangman: Them Dirty Dimes kennen de kracht van een goed verhaal.
