Het huis stamt al uit het jaar 1798 toen de een Portugese koopman uit Porto die zijn geluk vond in Londen. Vanuit daar liet hij de Port wijnen met een boot over varen om deze in groot-brittannië te verhandelen. Dit bleek een groot succes en hierdoor is het merk erg groot geworden. Vandaag de dag verkoopt de familie Dow's zijn prachtige port's in veel verschillende landen waaronder gelukkig ook in Nederland. Voor deze beste Ruby port van Dow's worden de beste druiven geselecteerd. De wijnmaker maakt gebruik van lokale druiven soorten waaronder tinta barocca, tinta cao, tinta roriz, touriga franca en touriga nacional. Deze groeien op aan de oudste ranken van Dow's in een zeer bijzonder klimaat. De druiven krijgen namelijk veel zon uren, koelte van de nacht en van de wind die over de Douro waait. Als de druiven rijp zijn worden ze met de hand geoogst in de vroege ochtend. Daarna volgt een houtlagering van wel drie jaar voor deze Dow's Ruby. Het resultaat is fantastisch, een rijpe geur van noten, gedroogd fruit, rode vruchten en iets van jam. De smaak is zacht en prachtig zoet. We noemen deze Ruby Port ook wel een jonge port omdat hij een robijn rode kleur heeft en is gemaakt op de fruit nuances. In de smaak van deze Dow's Ruby Port proeven we dan ook veel gedroogd roos fruit, wat krentjes en kersen. It's 2 panels holding 1 big privacy screen. Can't use as 2 separate 4' panels, but works great.

This 2 panel privacy screen works well. Assembly was very straight forward, with easily labeled tubes. My son and I had it together in about 10 minutes, which was probably 3 minutes of me telling him to quit playing around and hand me the parts. It feels very sturdy, not likely to fall over or anything. The material fits well, with the Velcro being very strong. Measurements are all very accurate, with all pieces attaching properly. We have a similar privacy screen at work that we have to try and stretch out because the top and bottom Velcro doesn't fit quite right... this model does not have any issues though. The material is thin and light weight, but solid black so that you can't see anything through or behind it. I definitely think it's a great deal for the money.
What I think would have given it 5 stars though, is if you had 2 totally separate 4' panels instead of 2 panels with one big screen. It really wouldn't cost any extra to make it so that the screen was in 2 pieces and you could use it as 2 separate panels instead of having to use it as one big panel. It says 2 panel folding privacy screens, but it's really one big one that folds in the middle.

The panel is hollow. If you’re buying it thinking it’s going to dampen sound, it really won’t. I bought some foam to put in the hollow part and that works okay, but it shouldn’t be required.

Fantastic performance with respect to privacy and room temperature.

While this standing room divider is tall and wide enough to provide a nice privacy barrier, it also allows light to filter through while maintaining that privacy. Assembly was easy with simple to follow directions and the only place I struggled was in pulling the fabric down to connect it. Similar to putting on a compression sock- it takes time and stretching/pulling. I don't think I ever got it to line up completely at the bottom and velcro together like it should, but it is a fantastic benefit. I have a home office on the ground floor, so when the curtains are open, it's not entirely unexpected to have a passerby look in as they go past. This provides basically a wall for them to look at. And I love it. Aside from the privacy, an unexpected benefit is wind control. On hotter days, my dog likes the window open, but hot to him may be cold to me, so I open it for him and allow this instant wall to shelter me. It is surprisingly effective at keeping the cold breeze from reaching me. I could not be more impressed with this divider. It stands on its own and provides privacy and temperature regulation through it's sturdy frame and thick (light-friendly) fabric.
