The drama with the ex was introduced but not played up enough. Most of the drama with Valerie seemed to be handled like background info and fixed off screen. Same with Abby and her family issues like it’s mentioned but miraculously better at the end. I had high hopes for this but I’m really not into the instant love trope. I do recommend if you are a fan of the author.
