Gedurende vier jaar, rijpt de Armagnac voor de helft op nieuwe houten vaten en voor de andere helft in oude houten vaten om de hout afgifte enigszins in te perken. De vaten zijn gemaakt van zwart eikenhout, kenmerkend voor het terroir van de Landes.
40% Alcohol.
Domaine de Laballe is al sinds 1820 in de familie. Van oudsher wordt in dit beste deel van de Grand Bas-Armagnac mooie armagnac gemaakt. Maar de bodem leent zich ook voor een verrassend aantrekkelijke witte wijn. Zeer mineralig, en typische aroma’s als ananas, perzik.

 
Noël Laudet voerde lange tijd de directie op de Grand Cru Classé Château Beychevelle om vervolgens op het eigen wijngoed de Laballe leven en werken te vervolmaken.
Inmiddels dient de nieuwe generatie zich aan en heeft Cyril Laudet, 8e generatie, het roer overgenomen.

Sables Fauves is de benaming van de zanderige leemgrond, een cru in de Bas Armagnac van 20 km bij 10 km, de concentratie aan geoxideerd ijzer geeft een specifieke frisheid en mineraliteit. De druivensoorten krijgen een koude inweek en gisten afzonderlijk op cuvée onder controle van temperatuur, max. 18°C.
In het voorjaar na de oogst wordt de wijn gebotteld.
