It is slightly rough but cotton gets softer the more it’s washed. I was debating between the bright white and natural white shades, and was worried that the bright white would pull too cool toned in my room but i’m so happy I chose it cause it looks so nice. The cover has high quality ties on the inside to attach to duvet cover and the zipper is also very durable. No loose strings or pilling. The fabric is cooling and lightweight. In bright morning light it looks more like a true sage green, while in dimmer lighting it can lean more earthy or military green. Either way, it’s stunning, cozy, and really warms up the room. I normally wake up several times a night and overheat easily, but the first night sleeping with this duvet cover and my new 100% cotton sheets, I slept completely through the night without waking up once. The cotton feels slightly heavier in the best way -- cozy and tucked in without feeling hot or suffocating. It was truly the best night's sleep I have gotten in a very long time. I honestly didn’t realize how much fabric type could affect sleep quality until now. My body responded so well to the cotton that I don’t think I can ever go back to synthetic bedding again.
